Rewiring the Bank for Agentic Work.

Agentic workflows do not slot neatly into the existing operating model of a bank. They break it — and that is the point worth sitting with. When work is done by governed agents, the questions you have to answer change.

What actually changes

Team design changes: you need people who supervise systems, not just operate them. The accountability layer changes: a human still owns the outcome, but the control now attaches to a non-deterministic process. And 'model owner' stops being a formality — it becomes the most important role in the room.

You can't org-chart your way out of accountability. Someone still has to own what the agent does.

I run my own agentic stack, so I see where this breaks before it scales. The lesson transfers: decide who owns what, and how controls attach, before you need the answer in production.
