Make Cloud an Asset During Mergers and Acquisitions

In most deals, cloud shows up on the integration line as a cost to be managed. That is a missed opportunity. Treated deliberately, cloud is one of the few levers that can accelerate synergy capture instead of dragging on it.
From cost line to deal lever
The difference is whether cloud is a cleanup task or a design choice. A clear target architecture, a disciplined FinOps posture, and an early call on what consolidates versus what stays let you turn integration into momentum — and give leadership a credible story about where value comes from.
The teams that win in M&A decide the cloud thesis before close, not after. Everyone else spends the first year discovering what they bought.
